Injury Prevention 101


Soccer season is here! As with the start of any sport season, it's important to take necessary steps to encourage success, especially from an injury prevention standpoint. Soccer injuries are very common, so we want to provide you with an injury prevention program that has the research to prove its effectiveness.

We present to you the FIFA 11+ program, a complete warm-up program designed to reduce injuries in soccer players 14 years of age and older. This program was created by an international group of experts and its effectiveness has been proven in a recent study by Thorborg et al. (2017). This study, which can be accessed here, found that using the FIFA 11+ program can reduce soccer injuries by 39%. That's outstanding! Knowing that this program is effective at reducing soccer injuries is truly a game-changer.

We would love to help you establish this program as a part of your training routine. We have given this program to athletes in the Chugiak Soccer Club and would love to assist you as well. Our physical therapists are available throughout the week and are well-versed in the FIFA 11+ program.
